Who is Milind Tambe

Dr. Milind Tambe is a professor of computer and engineering at the University of Southern (USC) and the director of the Center for Intelligence in Society (CAIS). He is a expert in the field of and has made significant contributions to the development of multi-agent and AI for social good.

Dr. Tambe received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Bombay and his master’s and doctoral degrees in computer science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He then joined the faculty at USC, where he has been a professor since 1996.

Dr. Tambe’s research focuses on the development of intelligent systems that can work with and benefit humans, with a particular emphasis on applications in the areas of security, health, and the environment. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including the development of security systems for public transportation and the deployment of AI-powered robots to clean up oil spills.

Dr. Tambe has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the ACM/SIGAI Agents Research Award and the AAAI Robert S. Engelmore Memorial Lecture Award. He has also been named a Fellow of the Association for Machinery (ACM) and a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI).

In addition to his research, Dr. Tambe is also actively involved in promoting the use of AI for social good.
