Looks like Yahoo is getting what Google went through. Marissa Mayer seems to be reviewing every single new hire before giving the go ahead. Seemingly, now with Free food and other perks for employees, Yahoo is sending out a much serious message to candidates who want to be part of the team. This will not only create a sense of importance for candidates but also create a sense of wanting to be part of Yahoo.
As impossible as it is, Marissa Mayer is not likely to continue reviewing each resume herself for the foreseeable future, however setting a high standard is maybe something that is more than real now.
Great companies work well with great teams, and having a leadership that understands each team member takes a lot of insight from the CEO perspective level. Today, a lot of managers and CEO’s do not pay much attention to their team member personalities, but having been bogged down with the fear of losing their own jobs, some finer things obviously get side tracked.
If you are in a management position, get to know your team better. Talk to them, honestly, and find out what makes them work the best. You may end up finding out what makes you work at your best !
