In a few weeks I will be the keynote speaker at 930Gov conference in Washington DC. One of the longest standing and well attended conferences in the public , 930Gov focuses on technology transformation, People challenges, government challenges and the future of government in the United States. My role as an educator and keynote speaker is to bring clarity to the future !

Easier said than done, the future is unfortunately not revealed in a crystal ball. The future is actually the culmination of the different steps we take today and how we execute on things we have planned and ultimately execute for a larger change. Today governments worldwide are battling change. From progressive governments in the United Arab Emirates, Estonia, Singapore to other places that are just starting to create through technology such as in Pakistan. There is a diverse amount of transformation that is taking place in the public sector across the world.

Today the way I see it governments have a larger challenge than just technology transformation. Technology always been and will always be just an enabler for initiatives, plans and goals that stand for something bigger. Governments today need to focus on creating plans that work, that bring change and that support the residents and citizens of the country that they serve and technology is a small piece of that/

Let's talk about technology and role in making this possible. such as the Internet of Things, Artificial , and Blockchain are the pivotal technologies that I believe will change the fate of humanity. I mean this in a good way. With the Internet of Things, Smart Cities will completely change the way we live and interact with the environment around us. Artificial intelligence will bring about automation to processes and us focus on tasks that are more humane and need more attention from a human perspective. This goes deeper into the definition of work and what classically is defined as performing a task is in my opinion relates to the pursuit of happiness. That is a discussion for next time. The last one being Blockchain, an enabler for Trust. I believe Blockchain is the way to go about security and enabling services that are seamless, efficient, traceable, and dependent. Every government potentially needs Blockchain as it is an anchor for accountability, something every government must have. One of the examples that I can provide about Blockchain in government is that of the city of Dubai. Dubai, a city in the United Arab Emirates is implementing Blockchain at a government level and in the next few years will be running a fully blockchain based governance that creates efficiency in processes and adds value to the lives of residents and citizens that live in the United Arab Emirates.

For Governments to be progressive and accept change, governments need to focus on eliminating red tape , putting people first , and serving rather then gloating about being in a position of power. The 930Gov conference is a showcase of technologies that can impact this change and my keynote will cover the emergence of the world of tomorrow and how technologies are changing the meaning of creating impact and real change.

In the United States and other westernized societies today is probably one of the greatest 's in human development as clusters of innovation powered by technology are changing nations inside out . Governments now can work seamlessly with technology providers and other stakeholders to create value much faster. The only thing that needs to be seen is how fast, how open and how innovative governments can become.

If you are in Washington DC and work with governments, join me at 930Gov and lets together create change that can lay the foundation for tomorrow. More at www.930gov.com
