Yes the inevitable has happened. Google has shut down two of its products Google Video and iGoogle. Duh… does it really matter !!!

For those of us less informed about these products, Google Video was Google’s version of YouTube until Google actually acquired YouTube in 2006. Google then continued supporting the video product until now when it as decided to shut it down. One significant difference between Google Video and YouTube was that Google Video had videos from other websites on it, which made is somewhat a bigger database of videos, however YouTube remained much more popular.

The iGoogle Product by Google was a search homepage customization option for Google  account holders. Users would be able to use a background image for the search homepage, add widgets and so on. Quite nifty, but looks like since its making no Money for Google, its not worth keeping it alive ! iGoogle will not be available after Nov 1, 2013.
