It was a pleasure speaking at the Ascobancaria Cybersecurity & Fraud Prevention Conference 2019 in Cartagena, Colombia.
First of all, Cartagena is an amazing and beautiful city and its probably one of the best places in Colombia to have a conference. Ascobancaria has also executed a brilliant conference with the right focus. Today Cybersecurity is more than tracking some kids who are trying to hack into your computer remotely, but it has become a $1.5 Trillion industry as of 2019.
The Baking and Financial sector have to look at the root cause of data loss, hacking and the emerging world of information being stolen. It is no longer that information has been stolen but its about data points and a wealth of knowledge about users, user behaviour, and personal information being exposed that is a bigger threat. As one of the most requested Cybersecurity & Fraud keynote speaker in Colombia, my perspective and advice to banks and financial organizations is primarily based on creating a culture, education, accountability, partnerships and execution rather than focusing only on technology. This is also part of the recently launched Future Readiness Score by my organization Futuracy, which is aimed at helping organizations understand and prepare for the future through a measurable metric.
